Part I · Naughty Dog · PS5 & PC

The Lastof UsPart I.

Twenty years after a fungal pandemic ended the world as we knew it, a smuggler and a fourteen-year-old girl cross what is left of America.

Enter the vault
Abandoned American city reclaimed by vegetation, cracked road and ivy-covered towers

The story

The world ended in a single night. Then nature took it back.

In 2013, a mutated strain of Cordyceps jumps to humans. Within days, cities fall. Survivors are herded into military quarantine zones, while the Fireflies, a resistance militia, fight for another future.

Twenty years later, in the Boston zone, Joel is hired to smuggle Ellie out of the city. What begins as a simple job becomes a journey across the country, and the story of two people learning to need each other.

The infected

Four stages of the same nightmare.

The Cordyceps fungus takes over the brain of its host. The longer the infection, the less human what remains.

Stage oneRunners
Freshly infected, still almost human. Fast, frantic, and they hunt in packs.
Stage twoStalkers
The fungus has started to take over. They hide, wait in the dark, then ambush.
Stage threeClickers
Blind, their faces split by fungal growth. They hunt by echolocation, and one grab is fatal.
Stage fourBloaters
Years of growth have armoured them in fungal plates. Slow, massive, and they throw toxic spore sacs.
